No meta data for categories

you men the title tag <title> should be same as meta title?

why?

The title of the document is page_title menu parameter and if this is not set the it is category title

then site name is optionally prepended or appended

I was just commenting. Now, that the <title> tag is inserted, I don't really care about the meta title tag. It's fine for me how it is.

I also had a quick search in the Google Webmaster help and actually it seems <meta name="title"> is ignored from Google.

This is no surprise ... they do what they think more appropriate , you see title tag is display while meta title is not ...
