When we press SAVE AND PREVIEW BUG we think that the session is storing that the ITEM is still open.

and no one can edit the item.

Can you verify this?
The item should be checked in unless an error occurs.

Does it make difference if user has publish privilege?

Finally I found specifically what is happening:

1-allow front end submission for register
2-create a menu item for this category where an administrator(not super administrators) can see
3-the is only 2 menus is this site:
- the front end submission and the category list
4-so the register user submits an new item and the only button I have visible is SAVE & PREVIEW what this does it save and open the document
5-the problem is that the SESSION is steal OPEN after the save and the redirect, different apears when we press SAVE and CLOSE

we notice this because after the register use saved and preview, the ADMINISTRATOR makes refresh in the category list the new item does not appear only when the user logs out the item appear in the list.

mmm, so the new item is not checked in?

and you say that the item does not get listed to the administrator?

Could this be related to cache?

What is the state of the item after submission, i am trying to understand if this wrong behavior and how to reproduce the problem

Regardless of whether the item is checked out OR not by the item should show in frontend category view.

-- The problem is either FULL page caching via Joomla's System Cache plugin or Start publishing time.

But since you have checked for Joomla's System Cache plugin, right? so the problem must be with Start publishing time.

-- Item model will set a current SERVER time as start publishing into the form (which i guess you didnot change before saving)

-- Category view uses user time to decide to compare to start/end publishing times

I guess user's Operating System has a time that is 1 or 2 of minutes behind Server Time

MY serve is 1 hour behind, so that could be the problem?

Our current approach of using user time to display items is problematic because users worldwide will start seeing item in with several hours difference

I checked out and joomla uses server time when comparing publish-up and publish-down dates, and i think this is the correct approach since the item must be worldwide available at the same time !!!

The user just sets the publish-up time according to his/her local time and the item becomes available worldwide the time he/she expected !!!

In your case the problem is not timezone !!! the timezone difference if irrelevant when creating items, since a user creates each item while being in timezone A and then views it while being in timezone A. IT WOULD MATTER if a user tried to view the item while being in timezone B

Your problem is that your local time is a couple of minutes behind the server time, set your clock 2-5 minutes ahead and test ...

Anyway i will change the source code NOT TO use users local time for comparing to publish up times, but i repeat this is irrelevant to your problem

And also we need not to forget this issue (which is not relevant to your problem):

Update FLEXIcontent publish-up comparison code to USE server and to User time as is in com_content in both J1.5 and J2.5
