Hi,

I am using FC 2.0 RC8 r1461 on joomla 2.5.6 with falang installed.

When I created a link on one article (La Tête la Première aux BNP-Paribas Film Days) the link generates an error 500
when in the SEO setting of the Global Configuration
SEO friendly URL is set to yes.
The problem is present wether you select URL rewriting or not.

www3.imaginefilm.be
chose the french language if you are not directly direct to it because the article is only in french.

ggppdk you still have the access to the site if you need.

Thanks for looking.

p.s. Just downloaded r1465 and the problem is still there

mmm, how did you generate/create this link inside the item?

e.g. The link inside article "La tête la première"
which you display in frontpage:
-- is linking to a French FLEXIcontent item via a Nederlands menu item no 211 (menu-alias "films")

If we change the link to use the French menu-item no 184 (menu alias "les-films"), then it works

- Did you create the link and then changed the Joomla menu item "films"?

- Did you use FLEXIcontent JCE plugin?

These menu item language associations of J2.5 are a bit of a pain, i thought were finished with them, but anyway i think we can make it work in all cases ;)

I used the JCE plug-in. And changed nothing at the menu item.

Hope this helps.

i ll think of it, of best way to avoid problems, e.g. create URLs that have the default FLEXIcontent menu item, which has language "ALL" ,

-- this way if the menu item alias of this item is "content" then /content/ will appear in your SEF URLs, nevertheless it would be nicer to have "films" in the URL, and menu items added to the pathway.

I am giving thought of how to have easier multi-language in J2.5:

e.g.
1. set you categories to have language "ALL" and translate their name with Falang

2. thus you put all translations of a content inside the same category

3. don't use menu item associations, instead set your menus to have language ALL and translate them with Falang

4. Enable in FC Advanced Route Plugin
- a. FLEXIcontent switching of language associated FC items (=switch language of items with a single click, without redirection to home page)
- b. category switching (=switch language of categories with a single click, without redirection to home page)

TODO:
Also for people using Falang to translate items too , i will enable editing ALL translations via tabs, see our FAQ article for this,
the code is there i just need to test and fix changes from J1.5 Joomfish to J2.5 Falang

So I changed the things the way you suggest.

1 and 2 was already like that for me

3 I removed the use of menu association

4 was already like that.

And now it is working like a charm.

Once again, Thank you GGPPDK
