scale option on image field

on rc8 when we select scale option in image field, the large image isn't proportional ..
maybe a little bug?

yes the image is deformed ...
if i put height and width all images are deformed ...
before only height or width will be change
for exemple

how i can specifie height to have a proportional scale ?

not sure why this would happen, scale should not stretch the image,

the image is streched not cropped, right?

mmm, try this
-- verify you are looking at correct thumbnail
e.g. you are configuring thumbnail small, but in frontend you view thumbnail medium,
-- change the dimension of the thumbnail a little , clear cache
-- view the thumbnail in the frontend in category or in item view
