Error in new custom-dev plugin

Error in new custom-dev plugin was created by igcorreia

I am trying to make a new plugin simple.

Followed tutorial but I keep having the same error oveer and over again. Don't know what I am doing wrong.

All custom plugin we made in the past are broken with the same error.

Solving for one I can probably make it work for all.

Does the CLASS and FUNCITION name need to be 100% igual to the field name?

example:
my field name: plg_companyname_pagenav_new.php

In the PHP file the only way I dont get the error is if the class and function look like:

Code:

class plgFlexicontent_fieldsplg_companyname_pagenav_new extends JPlugin

if I change to:

Code:

class plgFlexicontent_fieldsPlgCompanynamePagenavNew extends JPlugin

or:

Code:

class plgFlexicontent_fieldsPlgcompanynamepagenavnew extends JPlugin

it does not work...

Except for Advanced Search feature,

other changes to the plugins are minor and were done mostly to clear PHP 5.4+ warnings

Please send me a zip archive with the plugin,
and i ll update our FAQ article where it is needed
