[content plugins are slow/heavy] import make internal error

Good evening

In fact, I like very much this fonction of importitng from flexi ... but since I moved my site and since i've got new version of flexi, I have problems.

Example
I have a csv file (export from access) that has 31 entries. I have one secondary Joomla site into the principal one. Both are Joomla + flexi but the principal is with new version of flexi. The secondary is older version of flexi.
I tries the same file in both.
The secondary joomla-flexi (older version of flexi) has no problem. It imported the 31 files in less than one minute.
But in the principal (new version), any txt file I can put, it always stop with an internal error after about one minute, and it only imported five or six files, in order that I have to do it six or seven times to import the all file ... imagine with big files !!

So, as it was the same file and the same servor in both trying, I can say that the fault is not the file, not the servor, but the new flexi .

So, I'm sure you can help me ...

PS As well, I'd like to say that there are many new colours ... but this is a detail of course.

Hello

during saving of items
various heavy stuff is happening

if you import 3-4 items at a time, does it complete?

Yes it does. As I said, during the while before it gets to internal error, it always succeed in importing from seven to ten files. But you have to go to front or to articles view to see it. After this "part-imported" moment , it does not indicate anything except white page with INTERNAL ERROR and usual comment

PS I have two files with around 1500 entries each that I succeedded in importing with older version of flexi. Impossible in the actual state

I remember than the same files is Ok in the other Joomla/flexi that is exactly in the same condition (pages and servor, in the same website) ... the only difference is an older version of flexi

So I suspect if I go back to older version , everything is gonna be ok

I think I try this tonight , and I'll wait for next "ajax importing"

I'm desesperate.

Hello

for proper storing of items some events of joomla content must be called

this could be the difference compared to before

but the triggering of content plugins can be very heavy e.g. 0.5-2 seconds per item if we include triggering smart search (finder) plugin in a big site

So , actually, I have not enough powerful servor ?
It's strange because I used to import these tables with 1500 entries separated in six , when I had an other site much less powerful. So, around 200 entries at the time. With more, it often got problems like duplicate the files and stop at the middle of the loading ... But now, I'm supposed to have more powerfull abonment and it stops at maximum 20 entries ! And the second Joomla/flexi, not the roots one, is ok with same servor same conditions same files ... !
i wrote a letter to the support servor (ovh) but I don't really believe they'll help me.

So, do you think that fleximport would surely 100% help me ?

fleximport is as well able to export if I remember well ?
That's great, in fact ... if it solves my problem and if I'm able to import.

Hello

a reason for including a link to a 3rd party commercial too is because

because individual import scenarios cannot be supported / investigated free of charge, it is a cumbersome task,

only if there is a bug we could look into it
but e.g. built-in import does not support importing via multiple AJAX calls to avoid time-outs

FLEXImport is a 3rd party commercial tool,
that has some advantage like export, cron support, etc

(also the built-in import has some advantages compared to FLEXImport)

Regards

I'm sorry but I don't understand yous message

I think I can understand that fleximport is not the solution

Anyway, I now just can wait for new version of flexi with Ajax, hoping that the problem will desappear with it

You have an idea of when it will arrive ?

Hello,

AJAX-based import is likely to happen soon because of a project of ours, if it does not then it quite some time will pass before it is implemented
