"Choose HTML version" in Type config broken

More

reproduce:
- edit a type
- set "Default Item layout" to ::default::
- set "Choose HTML version" to HTML5

expected:
- item_html5.php gets loaded

current:
- item.php gets loaded

PS: I see DS in the code. This should actually be DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR as far as I remember the J3.0 docs.

Cheers

Edit:
newly generated content items are taking the correct HTML version, this bug happens only with existing items when changing the "Item layout" in the template tab of the item's configuration

you are right , but if this was broken nothing would work,

- FC has an alias of DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR as DS

about the "Choose HTML version", please test with built-in templates,

custom templates maybe outdated or have a bug

Hello

ok, i have tested this, and verified that it works properly,

(also this code is unchanged for quite some time)

can you please go to you item and check if you are overriding the template parameters of the content type ?

make sure you edit an item of the right Content Type and check that it is set to use Content Type default template and then preview the item in the fronted

Regards

Im not overriding the template type. I can see in the table of items that all items have the "default" template applied.

BUT now ALL the items pull the correct HTML version. I guess that happened after I saved the first newly built item with the new Type setup. Very strange ...

Dont know if it is worth investigating because that bug migth appear very rarly.

Cheers
