Filters - FlexiContent/Joomla - Can't order items

Hi,

I can't seem to see the item type FlexiContent / Joomla selection anymore?

Additionally, selecting a category and then trying to order/re-order items within a single category, doesn't work or make sense in it's arrangement/order?

Kind regards,
Noel Dixon (contractor Toowoomba Regional Council)

Hello

if you go from items manager to category manager
and then back to items manager

are the filters of items manager lost / reset to defaults ?

No, the filters that I select before performing the switch from items to category to items view(s), maintains the filters selected previously at the items view.

Clear as mud (;

Essentially, the filters remain selected as set by me (and other admins).

I am not going to be able to give you /administrator access as the site owner (TR council) restricts third party access by security policy. If it is helpful to provide further screenshots, settings, etc, please let me know.

Current Joomla 3.6.4 Stable
Current FlexiContent 3.1.1

Is it possible that many of the core extensions (plugins etc) are not being updated with the core component? I ask because I see many old dates and contributor names.

Kind regards,
Noel

Hello

i think i see what you mean,
are you trying to edit the ordering numbers ?

the save order button will appear, after draging and dropping a line

so slightly drag a line, and the save button, will appear
this is fixed for next release

(the save button does not appear unless you drag any row ?)

or is it a different issue ?

Hi ggppdk,

Yes, the "Save Order" button appears if I move an entry using the toggle handle on the left of an item.

The order doesn't save however, the effect isn't carried through to actually re-order those items.

Additionally, filtering by a particular category gives a weird ordering motif that isn't understandable as to the order visualized, this as opposed to the standard Joomla methodology of representing order (in the current context and method).

Kind regards,
Noel Dixon

Works as you described

However, the ordering visual is confusing.

This is because you are mixing published and unpublished items and items with different languages. I don't know why, but ordering published and unpublished does not seem possible. This is sometimes a problem when items are created but shall not be published immediately.

This is delibarate, about mixing, it is not an implementation limitation,

it was a choice,
we can change this behaviour,
if it is really wrong

i am not sure if we should

As always, there is no wrong or right. I normally write articles for our homepage, publish them temporary to see how they look and send an pdf to reviewer. An article is sometimes in many categories, so it would be nice just to publish an article once it is released.
But again, this is my specific application.
