Hello!

Error after update

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'JOIN#__content_rating AS cr ON cr.content_id = i.id LEFT JOIN ( ' at line 1

I restored backup for com_flexicontent and now other error

Call to undefined method flexicontent_db::buildRatingOrderingColumn()

Then I restored DB - but error still displayed.

Ok, I restored FC modules from backup - and now site online.

So, issue in modules.

Hello

I had tested category view and items manager with best rated ordering (in items manager sort by "rating" column),
but had not tested universal module,

Fixed the issue with SQL query in module
and updated the website with new version
you can test now

Tested in modules, preordered category and search view.
Ok, looks much better, but not ideal.
Explain.
We have very much items with 5 star rating and only 1 vote.
And they displays in alphabet order.
May be we need to add parameter to exclude elements in which less than 3 votes?

In search view (with and without text search field active) - no any results.
In category filters (with and without text search field active) - works fine.

Hello

you mean that you have used the configuration of voting field
to push items having having < 9 votes at the end of the listing ?
(by setting their "ordering weight" to be less)

but then when they are displayed , the show their real voting and not their "weighted rating percentage", so it looks weird that high rated items are at the end ?

I can't understand how it work. I mean this setting:

Hmmm... You are right.
But in same time, when we displays items with only 1 vote as 5 star rating item - it's not correct.
May items with less than 3 or 5 votes should displays as items without rating.

I mean if item have < 5 (10,15) votes = then item unrated.

Hello

Yes
the "Unrated" configuration TAB solves the best rated ordering for low-voted items
- by giving them a lower rating value DURING ORDERING
... and thus pushing them towards the end of the item list

But then it makes sense to show them as "Unrated / not enough votes"
otherwise it will look strange to have the at end of list and shown to have 5 stars despite having only e.g. 2 votes

thinking if we can display a special marking in them or show the number of votes as progress bar
and their voting with different styling classes, e.g. a darker image
