How to show items (category view) in a google map ?

I have made some plugin to have a googlemap field build with city, adress, ...
All is OK for a single view (item view)
I'd like now to have ( a template ?) to show a map with many flags corresponding adress/city (or GPS coords). When mouse over flag, it could display the title of the item and when clic open the item view.
I still want to use my filters of course, because the map should'nt display too much flags/data at the same time.
Any idea ?

great news !! can you share it ? ;)

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

Sorry it's a question. I have only made the google map plugin, but I search how to display a category view showing all items in a map.

I will share it of course if I have a solution

to do a google map with a link of all articles I'm using contentmap from www.opensourcesolutions.es/en/ext/contentmap.html

It's working like this :

In each article you give the address in the metadata fields (some special fields are added to enter the address).

I create a special article with a plugin which shows the google map. Each tag of the map is hyperlinked to the corresponding article.

When I want to display the map with the articles tags, I just display the article containing the google map plugin (from content map).

You can customize the google tags (if the articles corresponds to special categories).

It's FC compatible.

Not at all.
In the metatdata fields you have a field called content map (which contains Lat and Long values).
But at the right of this fields you have a button which allows you to open a Googlemap pop-up and you field where you can enter the real address.
When you validate the form you get the corresponding Lat and Long inside the content map field.
If course, if you know them, you can manually enter Lat and long in the contentmap field.

Moreover you have a second field which allow you to choose the Google tag for this address, you may choose between a lot of standards tag, and if you want, you can add you own customized tag inside the contentmap tag directory and choose it.
That allows you to get distinct tags inside the same map (hotel, restaurant, supermarket...)

best regards
Michel

I'm using the module Contentmap ( www.opensourcesolutions.es/en/ex ... ntmap.html )

The module is inside a simple article with the nonumber 'module everywhere'.

To display a marker on a Google map I just give the postal address in customized fields inside the meta datas of the article (these fields are created when installing the Contentmap component).

following the zoom level markers which are at the same place are replaced by a marker giving the number of addresses (this is automatically done by the component).
Of course each marker is an hyperlink to the corresponding article.

An exemple :
naouri-market.com
direct address to one of the maps :
naouri-market.com/index.php/province/province-2

Inside each article I use another Google component (googlemap from Mike Reumer tech.reumer.net )

This component is more complete and flexible Contentmap.

For this type of page I have created one field for each parameter used in the googlemap plugin {mosmap....}
I have also another field which copy all field used in the {mosmap...}. a | is between each value.
This field has a prefix [plan] and a suffix [/plan].

This field is interpreted by repreplacer (a nonumber component). This component transforms the [plan]...[/plan] in the {mosmap ....} to display the map.

I can display the map, the streetview, a link, a direction from/to... following the parameters value.

best regards

Michel
