Export and Import Settings

In the management interfaces for Types and Fields, under the Maintenance dropdown, there is currently an "Export Now" option. I would like to ask if there are any plans to enable exporting and importing of settings like Types and Fields, so that these configurations can be transferred between different sites?I maintain multiple sites, and having such a feature would greatly speed up transferring settings across them.Thank you!
