[Request] Related Items

Hi,
I think this must be a common requirement.
In an item view I'd like to see a list of items that share the same category
Possible Parameters for the plugin:
# of items to display
Item linkable
Related fields to display (thumbnail/title etc..)
Does something similar already exist?

wouldn't tags solve this?
The plug-in could be built rather easily?

Been working on a module to display other items in the same category.
Have named the module: More In This Category for FLEXIcontent (M)
Below each item it displays a list of links to other items in the same category.
Parameters currently include:
- number of links to display
- sorting order

Does not display an image, but I will also look at adding that feature.

Works mostly, but I have a bug or two to track down.
I modified an older Joomla module and it is missing a few modern features - need to add a few things like Joomla caching and module CSS class.

Will not get back to working on this module again until later this week.

just finished making this plugin let me know if you need it as a field plugin I'll forward it to you.
Currently you can control:
-the number of articles returned
-Auto limit based on permission i.e. guest, registered, special
-SEF friendly (BETA) works with Joomla SEF
-field plugin

flexiaccess compatibility to come soon.
as soon as I am certain SEF works across the board I will add the abiltity to limit by author as well. So you will have the option of returning a list of articles by only one author or just the latest items in that category
