How can I modify the File field link behavior?

Hello,

Looking for a little help. I have a couple fields of the type 'File'. On the front end, when the link is clicked the files are offered as a download. In my case the files will only be .pdf documents. I need to change those links to a direct link so the .pdf will 'open' in a new window, rather than 'download'.

Could anyone point me in a direction to solve this? I'm not sure where to start; Is it part of the core or would I look in the flexicontent com folder

Browse to 'plugins/flexicontent_fields/file.php' and then go to line 213.

You'll find the functionalities here.

Also, to ensure you don't have the 'download' button and download icon appearing, make sure to set 'Use mime icon' and 'Use download button' to 'No' in the field settings.
