Yes, currently you cannot use it inside mod_flexicontent module, because some item properties are missing and the function will not work

It would be nice, if a solution would be implemented like in aidanews to customize the fields and to set on some position. Backend Example attached.

Add custom HTML along with the field's display data,
yes indeed this would be useful, just format would need to be changed
e.g.
<h4>[fieldname:filed86%%display_small]<h4>
