Similar for the group by ORDER feature we would like to see a GROUP by category with title, and in this change you can add GROUP by article type with title.

Is this a question or a comment on the new feature?

In r1110+, there is a new parameter in the mod_flexicontent (FLEXIcontent Universal Module) to apply module configuration per category,
-- this can be enabled only for CATEGORY SCOPE in include mode (= choosing specific categories)
-- If you choose to show 5 items, then 5 items will be shown for every category

About ORDER, some of you may have noticed that you can choose more than one order,
-- in this case you choose n ORDERS (alphanumeric, most commented, newest) aka 3 orders the 3 lists will be created, one for every order
-- the ordering groups can may contain items grouped in categories, but the other way around CAN NOT be done.

Regards

Is a feature request

Imagine this 3 simple categories:
events,
news,
downloads

I want to create 1 module that would show the LATEST items of does categories but the GROUPED by category.

The only way to do this is to create 3 modules, but if we could similar to the feature GROUPED BY ORDER, if we could GROUPED by category would be awesome.

I see what you mean, but you can do this already in preRC3 r1110+

What i said is that:
-- you cannot have many ordering group inside a category

What you ask is possible, already
-- choose to apply configuration per category
-- choose the ordering you prefer (one ordering)
-- select number of items to show (this will be applied per category)
-- go to category scope and choose your categories (obligatory to use category scope)
-- configure remaining options

Regards
