a solution by netassopro
maybe adding in SVN
in helper.php

Code:

$lists[$ord]['featured'][$i]->hits = $row->hits;

add

Code:

$lists[$ord]['featured'][$i]->catid = $row-> catid;

after

Code:

$lists[$ord]['standard'][$i]->hits = $row->hits;

adding

Code:

$lists[$ord][ 'standard'][$i]->catid = $row-> catid;

after calling
<?php echo $item->catid; ?>
works

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
