Alternative Readmore is not used

Alternative Readmore is not used was created by hede
Im not sure whether I misconfigured something or it really is a bug:

1. set an alternative read more text in an item
2. display this item via the module

expected: the alternative read more text is displayed

current: the language specific read more text is displayed

Ok, no answer, I guess it is a bug - going to write a bug report.
