Universal FC module hyperlink question

I need to display distinct type of articles in a Universal FC module.
I want to display only an image in the module.

Following the type of article some image have an hyperlink to open the complete article and some other not.

Can I do that automatically from module options or do I need to do it manually. I think about not using the image display in the module but only a text which is composed from the image and create the hyperlink in the text.

I have found a solution to my problem :

In the Universal module option I don't display the image field.

I have added in the article types used a hiddn field which concatanate the image, the hyperlink if any, and othoer fields (title to be used in the alt image parameter).

I have put the field in the list of fields to be displayed.

Then, with Nonumber rereplacer I explode the field and I display each value (image and if any the hyperlink of the image).

If any better solution, I am interested to use it

you said that some items do not have image field assigned to their content type

In the article type there are :

image files which is mandatory

Link to a pdf file which may be empty

Core description field which may also be empty

.

In the selected article for the Universal module I want only to display the image field.
If the pdf field and/or the description field are not empty I want to do an hyperlink to the article.
If both pdf and description fields are empty I don't want to create an hyperlink to the article.

the template of the article displays :

image field

pdf file in an iframe

description field

Presently if I put in the Universal FC module than I want a link from the image and if the article contains only the image field I get the article with the same image (which is not usefull).


As explained in my previous post for this topics, I don't activate the display image option in the Universal module. I display a html text containing the image and if necessary the hyperlink.

I just want to know if my solution is good.
