Différence entre type de contenu et template

EVERY template has 2 layouts:
- item layout
- category layout
- ... in future we may add more e.g search layout

SO:
- item Layouts are used by items
- category Layouts are used by categories

Now, let's consider this example:

In automobile Content Type you can set a "Default Item layout" e.g. the item layout of template nicecar

... which will be used by ALL automobile items.

Now you have a choice not to use the "Default Item layout" for e.g. automobile item no 414 and use some the item Layout of some other template.
The selection list for doing this can be limited to the ones specified in "automobile" Content Type with parameter "Allowed Layouts"

Maybe i should rename the parameters and descriptions again, to make it more clear, mmm

1. I think the "Allowed Layouts" should be changed to "Allowed Item Layouts" to match the naming of the other parameter: "Default Item Layout"
2. The "Allowed Item Layouts" should be moved to the bottom Just above the default

This will make the configuration more intuitive and less likely to confuse !!!

Also the "Appearance Theme" which is the Header above the parameters:
- "Allowed Item Layouts"
- "Default Item Layout"

should be changed to:
"Theme (template) configuration"

What do you think?

It becomes more clearly, thanks.

Yes, it would be easier to understand Flexicontent with only one word for : theme, appearance, layout and template.

The same for : item, article, content ....

There cannot be one word with layout and template, a template has a number of layouts.

Although i think theme is same as layout so it should be that "Appearance Theme" should be changed to

1. Item Layout (theme) configuration in item edit form
2. Category Layout (theme) configuration in category edit form

These are the new names and parameter names and descriptions:

Allowed Item Layouts
-- Blank allows all --

Select the allowed item layouts for this Item Type

NOTE: Every template has one item layout, so this list contains template names

NOTE: This is especially useful if you want to allow layout selection for frontend users, but also for reducing the size of the selection list

Default Item layout

Set a default item layout for all the items of this type (recommended)

NOTE: every template has one item layout, so this list contains template names

NOTE: You can override this default item layout inside each item configuration

Layout Selection

NOTE: This list contains template names,
since EVERY template contains ONE layout of every kind.
So there is ONE item layout, ONE category layout, etc, etc

Well, anyway, I hope somebody will make a good french translation for the Flexicontent admin.
It's a pity that a Joomla extension, created by a french guy (Emmanuel Danan, very nice, I met him in a Joomladay), has not a complete documentation and admin in french.

-- our new submit translation feature makes very easy to submit updated translation packages, we will set a target server soon.

-- micker, said to update the French documentation, once we have final version.

I wish i had known spanish, french, russian and german too, if i only had time and motivation ;)

Emmanuel is still project leader, just has other priorities ;)

Right haha ;) , in fact only english and french will remain in the trunk to reduce workload

The others will be installable separable as the other languages.

Of course urgency depends on the angle everyone views something ;)

my life plans are the most urgent now ;) right? :D
