ok no pb, where can I dl the files ? I'll test it on my server, and if all ok, I'll put in on webserver to let you see.

NOTE, this updated files give 30x or more faster
1. category view main query
2. category view filter creation
in large sites (category view with 10,000+ items, with less items you will see e.g. 3x-15x faster times)

(Nevertheless, we have some a thought do a parameter to , disable item counting per filter value in larger sites 50,000 per category or with sites with many visitors, also some thoughts of more optimization)

I forgot an echo statement inside, i will give you again these files to test

please remove a

print_r($query);

inside file category.php

yep I did it, and much better ! I removed the :
/* print_r($query); */
and all if working fine. not so fast than before (maybe due to item counting per filter) but it's ok ! thx for your great work !

I will re-enable (the removed parameter) that selects faceted search filter behavior (which includes):

1. Displaying filter values available according to current filtering
2. Counting items

So, if you disable the "Faceted Filter Behavior",

then the category view will have a constant high performance, regardless if your current category (or subcategories too) have 2,000 OR 10,000 or 50,000 items

furthermore if you suspect a performance issue anywhere then you can enable debug at FLEXIcontent Component Configuration via URL variable fcdebug=1, and then a message will be displayed to show all performance details, e.g. find a problematic 3rd party custom field, or a problematic field with a CUSTOM SQL query or a problem in your custom template !!!

No more being blind, you can always tell why performance has gone away !!! (if a problem arises)
