How to display categories in separate table columns

Hi - I was wondering if there was a way, on the categories page, to split up the categories and make them return in separate columns in the table.

In the image below, you can see how by default all the categories return in the categories column. Is there a way to customize the categories page template so that I can split the categories column into multiple columns like this?:
