I have this problem as well "No items available for this category". I have one category that works. I copied all parameters from that category to an other category but this category just wont display any items.

There is a parameter "Owner items" in the menu item under slider "Basic Options"

I cant see this in RC4. "Basic Options" conatains "Item depth" and "Add item to pathway".

This parameter was removed, instead we have a more powerful alternative: 2 new menu items

1. Author Items (you can limit to single category or do not select category to display all authors items)

and

2. My items (when clicked by a logged user, he/she will see all his items)

Understood, thats good.

But I still have the problem that my items dont show up in the category menu item. In the FC back end I see the correct language, published, items are in the correct category. Weird thing is that another cat with the exact same setup (just a different language) works fine. I have no idea where else I could check for the flaw ...

You cannot create menu item "My items"?

If you can create menu item "My items" , try logging with different user accounts (frontend) and also changing language and also resetting any category filters that you have (while you display the My Items in frontend).

Oh, that is a missunderstanding. I could create that "my items" menu item. But what I need is a menu item that links to a category and its items. I can do that but as described earlier the catagory view say "No items available for this category" despite I can clearly see them in the back end and a different category with the exact same parameters (different lang though) works.
