Category items view - show only featured was created by gruz

Is there any legal way to have a menu link to a category, but showing only featured items from the category?

If no, what is the best way to implement this?

mmm, added parameter to category menu item for selecting to show featured items and a new Featured Items SCOPE to Universal module, in r1258
