multilanguage associated menu items [solved]

Right now the associated menu items do not work with FC: Despite two menu items are "associated" languagewise, changing the language always brings up the "home" page instead of the associated page.

Multilanguage works as expected when I deinstall FC.
Is this only my installation or a general bug?

Also when I have URL on it fails with "Use URL rewriting" - set to yes....

Thanks for the hint. Looks like it only works with URL rewriting and .htaccess.
