Item ordering

Well, have to come back to the item ordering. In FC global configuration I am missing the option to set custom ordering of item as default order system. Is there a technical reason for that?

You mean item ordering inside categories or in backend items manager ? (for item manager we have)

Ok. Perhaps I am confused. In FC global configuration a standard item ordering can be set. There is also a setting for item ordering in each category configuration. Are both settings not combined?

I actually want that item ordering in category view is always manual ordering by default and cannot find a global setting for that.

There is not Global Parameter for this, you can setup the configuration of category and then copy it to all categories that have the same configuration via the "Copy Parameters" button in the category manager
