add joomla menu (category layout) was created by flummi84

hello,
we consider to install fc on live site (j2.5) with a lot of changing content.
is it possible to use fc only for a few new and existing categories.
in other words: is it possible that we still create standard joomla menu entries / content items that display e.g. with our 'normal' layout and pagination?

a complete change to fc is just too much work at the moment.

No, in Joomla 1.6/1.7/2.5 all articles and category view will be redirected to flexicontent item and category views respectively. This is possible in J1.5 by using a SECTION of the article (=FC item).

In J2.5 we have no sections, it is possible to implement limiting to a specific top category but it was never implemented one reason is that an item can be assigned to multiple categories. Then it would be possible to only examine the main category, maybe.

Currently the above is not implemented.

You can still use com_frontpage though
and
all your existing menu items will work without change
