[Not a FLEXI issue] How do I make the top level of a menu active?

Hello all --

I am having an absolute brain fog.

I have a web site based on my family. There is a menu list with all the family members. When I click on any of the menu items such as "Willie", my Grandfather's name, I would like all the articles related to him to show up, and the menu to expand to show my Mum and my aunts and uncles. The menu expands, but my grandfather's name is not clickable. I don't want to have to add his name again to the list of sub-menu items.



I know this is such a simple question, but I can't figure it out!

I have been testing other templates and it seems this is a template issue, not a FLEXIContent issue.
