Is there a way to have an automatic description?

I managed to do it with suffix/prefix in a textarea field but is only for viewing. Is there a way to have it in editing also? I know there is a "Default" in textearea that I can use but I want to use fields.

The site is about strays animals found and to give an example I want something like this:
"{Breed} Found in {city} on {date field} etc etc

Hello

i like this,
there are a few benefits to creating an automatic description

- this can be done the same way as "Automatic title" :
during item save

- but to be a complete PROPER solution
we would need to update existing items via AJAX task

example
our an AJAX task in files manager to update file size for file manually change at the hard disk , e.g. via FTP)

thus if you change configuration you can run AJAX task to update DB data, otherwise you will need to re-save ALL items

- i will open a new enhancement issue
but no promise on implementation time

Thank you for liking this idea.

Hello

no you can not use replacements in titles yet
- the automatic title now only supports ITEM ID, to do more for the title too

I have opened a new issue (for v3.1.0) with this description:

I also need such an interesting feature so that I developped a simple module allowing for automatically modifying the title (and alias) using flexicontent fields values.
The code can be found on github: github.com/ChristopheSeg/FcFieldsToTitle .

Be carefull, I have not enough skills in coding and Flexicontent to assure that it works in any situation!! If you encounter issues or bugs, please give some feedback
As FcFieldsToTitle plugin seems to work quite well, I enhanced it to provide automatic title for several item types. For each item type, one or several selectionnable fields can be used to compose the title and alias. A small how to is included in the plugin and on Github.
Regards
