Custom title plugin

Custom title plugin was created by JeBy
Hi there,

I would like to create a plugin that changes the titles of the content on my site dynamically using values from Flexicontent fields. I know there's a plugin called FcFieldsToTitle that does this but I don't want to save the extra information IN the title value because that messes up the search index. I'd just like to display for example a year from a date field next to a title automatically in between brackets everywhere the title appears (for now I have manually done this by editing my item template).

Should I extend JPlugin or should I extend FCField and filter on title?

we already have this but not finished and it will a paid plugin
flexisystem pro => you can load all field value in whole joomla site

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Hello

Added custom layout file support for 3 more CORE fields:
title, created (date), modified (date)

Thus you can install github version into a TEST site:
github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexicontent-cck/tree/3.1.x-stable

1. duplicate the layout file:
plugins/flexicontent_fields/core/tmpl/title/value_default.php
to
plugins/flexicontent_fields/core/tmpl/title/value_my_default.php

2. customize the file using raw values of other fields
$item->fieldvalues
(see our FAQ article)
www.flexicontent.org/documentation/faq/7...of-other-fields.html

3. select the value_my_default LAYOUT in title field configuration

Thanks for the update! I did create a new template now but the thing I'm noticing is that in all the views (categories, item, etc) + the flexicontent module the "display" variable of title is never used. $item->title is used so it just outputs the text. Therefore, for now, this is doing the same as when I manually changed my title in the template. Hopefully soon we'll be able to use this feature in a more efficient way :) Thanks again!

Hello

we implemented this

now you can use custom PHP code in type configuration with access to other field values to set an automatic title per type on item form save.

The implementation is in github and will be in next release
