How to disable some field filters in main category?

did you use option "use selected filter bellow" ? (cat =>tab search and filter)
you can choose filter wanted

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

Hello

every category inherits shown filters by its parent category
but as micker said you can configure a different set of filter for every category
