Hi

I have noticed several URLs indexed by google using /site_content/ in the URLs. I have blocked site_content directory in the robots.txt file but was wondering is there a way to completely hide that from google in flexicontent?

Thanks

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Hi

Thanks for your quick reply. I have read both those. The problem I have is we've placed shared content articles in a single category called offers. Each site is using virtual categories with a selection of articles in offers. Everything is working fine on the site however google is finding some of thise articles in offers. For example a URL on the site should be

/health/65-champneys?ilayout=sitename

but google is indexing like this

/site_content/10-offers/65-champneys

How do I stop google from finding and indexing any /site_content... URL?

I have site_content blocked in the robots.txt file.

I have seen in the FLEXIcontent Hidden Menu:

Site Content (Alias: site_content)
FLEXIContent » Directory

should this be unpublished?

Thanks,
Chris

Hello

1. use v3 BETA7g
2. make sure that 'site content' is of type FLEXIcontent 'Single item' or FLEXIcontent 'directory'
3. make sure that you have menu items for all your top level categories

little reminder: 'site content' is the last resort, last choise if no other menu item is found

PS: a menu item of differentlanguage or inappropiate access level will not be chosen

Regards

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply. I have changed that site_content to a single article. I see google is removing them but slowly.

While looking through what google has indexed it seems to be inconsistent with the page titles. In some cases google took the custom page title set in flexicontent and for others it has taken the meta title which is different. When a custom page title is set for a flexicontent item does that not become the meta title? If not how can I change that so the custom page title and meta page title are the same?

Also I noticed that I have in some cases google has appended the site name to the title in the index. I have 'Include site name in title' set to No in global config but google has used it any way. Is there are meta / seo options in flexicontent to override that?

Thanks,
Chris

Hello

for the things that you mention there are parameters per Content type and these parameters are overridable in each item
