The latest fix solved the BE menu item editing error, and I can confirm the canonical issue works now as expected, at least in my case.

Hello

since you now have this version v3.0.12rc3 you can do this:
- create 1 more copy of the local dev site
- install in it v3.0.12rc2a

to see if there is any change in behaviour or new bug
if you find any then post back here, and if it an new issue (of v3.0.14-rc3) i will split your post into a new thread

Please re-download and install a fix for unneedeed spaces in module, introduced a bug in the github instance that downloaded
github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexicontent-cck/tree/3.0.x-stable

I can confirm the latest dev release has solved both the canonical and the module issues. I have not deeply tested it, but apparently it has no relevant/evident major issues.
