Have just tried to install latest version v2.0 RC4 r1235 on a local server but cant get past update of local permission, every time I click to update it just goes back and asks to update again! Any idea's?

you install it on joomla 2.5.4
this bug is found ... try older version we work on bug

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

micker , actually is past the installation, he is at the Dashboard, trying to update initial permission.

Please install build 1236

and:

To enable debugging of initial permission checking/creation
-- open FLEXIcontent Component Configuration
-- and goto Section :"Performance / Debug Options"
-- enable the relevant and save
