I prefer asking before doing the Joomla update.

Is current Flexicontent version (2.2.1 RC) compatible with Joomla 3.4 ?

yes,
but for new website use v3.0 beta3:

about J3.4.0,
it is better to wait for J3.4.1, instead of using J3.4.0
