It is not minigallery only, but all the Flexi fields are rendered, regardless if they are displayed or not.

The way you suggest to fix the issue is a little problematic.

I will post a cleaner fix for this, also some fixes for some other minigallery issues.

we ended up creating some if statements in the plugin itself to solve the issue. i am not sure if this issue is resolved in the latest version of flexi as we had this issue with the last version and will be upgrading this week to the newest version.
