on basic install .. upload function works great
i test it

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

.
Can you upload files via the Joomla Media Manager?

Joomla will show the "This file type is not supported" error for a number of reasons besides the file type not actually being supported.

Such as when the /tmp/ folder is not available due to ownership/permissions issues,
or the path to the /tmp/ folder is not correct in the Joomla Global Configuration.

Also make sure you have disabled the Flash uploader.

Note: Upgrade your Joomla immediately.
The current version is 1.5.25.
Your version 1.5.23 has known security issues.
You will be hacked.
