[SOLVED] Numeric field formatting, number is corrupted/changed during output

Unfortunately there is more to this .
I needed the to do filtering on the price (a range from low price to high price) and it wasn't working. It works if I change the "Server-Side validation" to DECIMAL. But now I get the same problem as above where I can't enter the full price, e.g. if I enter $11,000.00 and after I click on Apply I get $11.00.

In other words, if you set the field's Server-Side Validation to decimal on the Editing tab, any digits after the comma are stripped from the number upon saving the item.

that is again about number , but it is a different question,

now about this different question, what you should do is only enter "number", you thus
- only use the decimal point when entering, entering/validating input, is handled by different parameters than displaying

e,g, a thousand separator, that can be a new feature/parameter in the viewing section,

-- you can open a new forum thread about it, suggesting a new parameter "new output formating parameter, adding various formats e.g. numbers"
