how to set tag or field value or categorie in a view list

Is it possible to quick set some values in items in view list ?

Actually you can change directly item state without opening each item
I d like to do the same with another value like a secondary categorie or a tag or a field value...

it could be the same usage than settings 'featured' to some value... except it's not featured.

My problem is that I need different 'featured' values, so I'd like to select with tags or categories or field values.

To be able to edit items fields in a table is a question that has been proposed before.

i was wondering how this would be possible,

maybe it is (for a future version)

we could
1. display items in a table like the frontend category layout of default template
2. add a button in each cell get via AJAX
the onDisplayField() event of the field
3. display the above output and allow to edit
4. via another button will send the field value via ajax to the server

but the above needs to answer some questions, and it is for future version
