Field is better to be set as untranslatable at the beginning of creating your content.

Or when you have a few content items, since the untranslatable values must be saved to all item's translations to ensure compatibility,

that is why it requires re-saving the original content items or each of the translations

Edit a field configuration, in fields manager backend TAB, there is a property there
