Please consider the possibility of scoping the item via custom field and even we could defined what the value of the field should be.

Custom field? this depend on the type of custom field

e.g. we already support these fields:
-- related items field
-- date field
-- favourites
-- tags

you mean to add which custom field?
e.g. text is single property field (and will remain like this) and we can include it in a DB query ...

e.g. weblink, email are multi-property fields (their values serialized via PHP), and we can not easily include them in a DB query

text field is the most likely to added next

Hi

Then it seems the single value text fields (i.e. select field ,etc.) is going to be supported "next".

Will it be something like ,the filter be applied if an entered "text" is present in the whole text field (search in the text) ?

thanks
Regards

You are thinking of allowing frontend user to select a value e.g. via a field filter , or (i guess you mean this) you want to enter a specific value to the field in backend ?
