How to preset the Date Field at Today without the Calendar widget? was created by rvbgnu

Hi,
I have several Date Fields in my web app, and one is "Date Added". It is different from the Joomla core field dateCreated or publishUp.
I would like to save 2 clicks for the User, by setting up the Date at Today, instead of having to click on the Calendar widget, then select Today button.

The setting in the Field > Editing > Values Creation > Date source = Timestamp (current time) does not work as expected, because it is not Editable later on. So I will keep the Normal (date field editable) setting. My goal is just to help the User when entering data the first time, for an empty record.

Please how could I achieve this?
And potentially add this to the Date Field description:

hello its corrected on flexicontent beta
no date for release sorry

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?
