hello,
i have an simply idea to help translator :
-in translation forum create an annonce with special changelog of translation.
Code:
#2.0 string = ... .... #1.5.6 string = ... .... #1.5.4 string = ... ....
thanks do you think ?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

.
We definitely want to reengage with the Translators and get the translations up-to-date.

But I am not sure exactly what you mean.
A thread can be pinned to the top of a particular forum as an Announcement.
Is that what you mean?

Users/Translators could subscribe to that thread.
Then we could post updates to that thread and they would be notified that it is time to update the translation files.

We really do not want another announcements sub-forum.
I think that would be confusing.

I think we are going to have to jump-start translations team again by updating all the language packages by merging-in all the new strings.
Then user could at least install the language.
And they would be alerted that new strings need to be translated.

Perhaps after we get some other things done like the FAQ, and some other docs, and we get the extensions directory up and running . . .
then perhaps we can divide-up the languages and update the files by merging the new strings.

Plus now we have J2.5 versions.
We could merge both the J1.5 and the J2.5 versions.
The J2.5 format works on J1.5.
That way we would only have one set of translation files for both FC versions.

We should ask George and Suriya about doing this.
That way FC 1.5.6 and FC 2.0 will have the same language files.

There may be a few extra keys, but it would be a lot easier to manage.

Obviously we are both thinking about this.
:D
