I really need to display prefix/suffix in item form.
This is simple and best for users insead of displaying inline tooltip.

Maybe you can add another prefix/suffix under item form params and this prefix/suffix only used in item form.

this has been added to a couple of other fields, but e.g. some fields the list is sortable list (<ul>-<li> HTML tags)

- so which fields are you thinking?
- the prefix/suffix for the field values (in item form) will be inside the <li></li> tags, right?

I need to display prefix/suffix for text field where mostly user enter numerical data. I guess there will be no problem displaying them in li tag.
