How to override template for author's item list

Is this something related to duplicated template?
I mean, do I have to remove current template and duplicate template again?

Let me explain precisely..
I have followed tutorial below to create a link that displays Author's items list.

I get list of items for particular author successfully with url below.

.../index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=category&layout=author&authorid=575

Problem 1:
But, the template that I have set in Edit Author(backend) isn't used.

Problem 2:
Can we set which Type of items to display?
Coz there is an author description item that belongs to author, and author description item listed as well.

the parameter name for "Enable category parameters override" was changed

override_currcatconf --> override_currcat_config

so,
1. please re-edit the author and make sure it is turned ON,

2. also make sure you are not overriding via the menu item

What about adding a parameter e.g. textbox or multiple select, to choose TYPEs in Edit Author..

about which type of items the user can create, that already exists, in each content type there is an ACL privilege "Create Items" that you can assign(give) to your user groups, by default all content types are allowed to be created by ALL user-groups
