-- so the performance enhancements in counting items that are mentioned above are relevant in your case because:

counting sub-category items of 1st level sub-categories, is already expensive, to do it in 2 levels , will make it much more expensive,


surely on small sites with less than 2000 items , this will not be a problem


-- currently not supported / implemented, currently, we only display 1st level subcategories and count items in them in all-depth
