Unselectable categories

I deleted them via database manually. And yes they were trashed but still could see them.

I have just decided to set up the site from scratch.


The site was acting weird so its faster to set it up from scratch than trying to fix the errors.
The reason that might have caused this issue was I imported articles using and caregories using j2xml component into flexicontent.

I had existing articles and it override some articles. Then i started getting these category problems.

Anyways...

I installed the site on php 5.5 its running pretty good at the moment.

I got one more question:

If i uninstall flexicontent, what happens to the custom fields like file upload?

Do they stick to the joomla article? I am just curious how it would displayed after uninstalling it.

1. i was going to ask you if you manipulated content/categories with some 3rd-party tool, i suspect that maybe a loop in category tree was created.


2. About uninstalling FC :
all non-Joomla data (DB tables) that were added by FLEXIcontent will be deleted

what will remain is the Joomla articles (title, aliases, descriptions, etc) and categories

One last thing may I ask before you go

I have just created new categories. I can see them in the backend but cannot see them at fronend item submission form. I checked the acl of that category but cannot see anything unusual.
