Hello,

Thank you! :)

Unfortunately, there is still an issue with Fields. No created fields are visible in the Field Manager. Only lots of waenings is visible instead of data, as shown in the PDF i have PMed you before.
(The newly created field is stored in the DB amd visible in the teemplate manager. I cannot see it in the item it is connected to).

Thanks again,
Sune

Hello

it is working now

I forgot to ask you to also enable Joomla parameter "Debug System",

-- so that the any MySQL error that occurs will get get printed

The reason that fields backend manager was broken is:
that you have not ALL database TABLE have the same character collation collation
some had utf8_swedish_ci
some had utf8_general_ci

the collation defines :
a. which character can be used/stored
b. how strings are compared
c. etc, ...

so in our case you can not compare to DB columns that have different collation (=different way of comparing characters)

-- I have set ALL DB to use collation:
utf8_general_ci

if you need utf8_swedish_ci collation, e.g. because some Swedish characters are missing from utf8_general_ci, the update ALL DB to have utf8_swedish_ci

-- you can do this easily via admin-tools which you have already installed

THANK YOU! :)

That is not what first comes to one´s mind but it makes senca...
It is not possible to use UTF8_general_ci for Swedisn (and other nordic countries) as it doesn´t sort correctly.

So a general advice to others having the same problem is to always set collation after installing a new component.

Thanks again!
