Tooltips wrong after upgrade

I just updated a J 2.5 site to 3.3 and the latest FC.

The .... title="tiptitle::tipbody" syntax doesn't break it into parts anymore.
Instead its rendered with the :: quotes in the middle and the link URL is shown after.
I can't find the cause, or where to look at, you got an idea?
Is it due to the changeover to bootstrap?
Where in the system is it happening?

Here an example, hover over the images
J 2.5 version

J 3.3 version
trans.h-e-a-r.de/hersteller/audi ... ionen.html

It's like that for all tooltips, not only in the module.

1. is this a custom FLEXIcontent template e.g. "blog1" or a built-in FLEXIcontent template e.g. "blog" ?

we try to use the new tips of J3.x because mootools is being removed

so maybe we changed the CSS class in some place but did not upgdate the "tip code" to remove the ::

is this in image field ?

All custom templates. All tooltips appear like that.
Its not only the :: delimiter in the middle, the href is inserted after the tiptitle::tipbody part, although its not in the definition of the "title" attribute.
The title attribute is also truncated and incomplete in the html output, but the tooltip displays nevertheless. I really don't know whats going on and where its happening.

Joomla 3 does not use mootools tooltips,

-- we are updating (MOST of) these in FLEXIcontent v2.2.0 (in BETA now)

-- and will finish these changes in v2.2.1

Hello, I'm just setting up a new site with J 3.3 and FC 2.2
Very nice, great software again!

But the tooltip functionality is still broken as it seems.
Can you tell we where the definition of the tooltips happen?

we updated item form to use J3 tooltips

but
1. the tooltips created via file
component/com_flexicontent/classes/flexicontent.helper.php

2. the tooltips in plugin files

have not been updated yet

they work but i understand that the "::" is ugly,

will do in next release
