The effect will be showed in the main category. The main category will directly be showed after login.
Other categories seems to have a normal load time after updating an item. To select any category you can use the category selector in the top of the sidebar.
For category vew: item counting per filter value is costly because
- a single table is used for the values all fields
- creating fields of type textarea may degrade the performance of filtering, depedending on the data that you save in them
Search view does not suffer from the above, it creates 1 table per filterable field
- you can open individual filters and disable FACETED search (select max performance option) thus disabling item counting per filter value and also availability of each option
TODO:
- use/create the fitlering table of search view in category view for the purpose of calculating filters
this will should not create any compatibility problems, but this is not implemented

- do not link to the top level categories and include sub-category items

Ok, I will not link the top level category any longer and use search view for searching content from all categories. That is also more useful and more logical to use the filter and to find any items.
