[v3.3.0-dev] Failed to add tag

1 year 5 months ago #79135 by ggppdk
Hello

hhmm if renaming and the mapping already exists, then it makes sense not to try to create a new tag

is it common case to need to rename a tag for you ?

No, you're right. I did that only for another test.

The real problem is that I cannot access Joomla! tags...

Hello

i think the tag renaming fails because
the tags tree needs to be rebuilt

Did you use a previous version of FC in this website or was v3.3.7 the first version to install ?
You may send me a PM with access to review this.

About renaming a tag when an FC tag is renamed a new joomla tag will be created and the previous Joomla tag will not be modified
this because tag may be used in other components
but i am not sure if this the proper way

I first encountered this problem on a J! with a previous version of FC and then did tests on an initial FC 3.3.7.

Is that enough or do you need access?

Hello

If you have a previous FC version installed in this website
then it can lead to this problem with Joomla tags , and this was fixed in v3.3.7
but if the problem has happened already then v3.3.7 cannot fix it automatically

Hello

i have seen your PM with access

Saving Joomla tags in Joomla Tag manager should be working now

If you have another website with this issue
Make sure you have installed FC v3.3.7+

and backup website and run in phpmyadmin
UPDATE PREFIX_tags SET parent_id = 1 WHERE parent_id = 0 AND id <> 1

Replace "PREFIX_" with your joomla database prefix

Please

see the corrected SQL command above
it must be
id <> 1

Then you need to
your browser "inspect html" on the button "Checkin"

change
Joomla.submitbutton('tags.checkin');
to
Joomla.submitbutton('tags.rebuild');

select 1 row from the list and click the checking button

Thank you very much. Saving the tags is OK. But creating a tag in FC still doesn’t create it correctly in J! (no access rights) and I don’t see it in my tag list when I edit the module that uses J! tags...

Hello

running the above 2 steps will fix the existing entries in Joomla tags table

but indeed after creating a new tag in FC tags manager the problem returns for the newly created tag in Joomla Tags table

i will need to review this more locally
will post back
